A well-balanced, budget-friendly itinerary that combines trekking, safari and beach. You will visit two great parks in northern Tanzania, Tarangire National Park and the world famous Ngorongoro Crater. You will discover "differently" the landscapes of northern Tanzania during your treks at the foot of Mounts Kilimanjaro and Meru, and you will also have the opportunity to witness Tanzanian daily life during your visit to Mto wa Mbu and your meeting with the Chaggas. Finally, you end in style with a few days of relaxation on the magical island of Zanzibar.

Day 1: Arrival in Kilimanjaro

Day 2: Trekking in Kilimanjaro's forest
You will also discover the Chaggas tribe through their traditional houses, their farming techniques and cattle breeding. The Chaggas will also take you on a tour of the caves in which they hid during the inter-tribal wars with the Maasai.

Day 7: From Mto wa Mbu to Zanzibar
- Village walks: Get an inside look at the homes and exquisite craft of Mto wa Mbu’s many tribes. Visitors will get a chance to meet locals and learn about banana beer, Makonde woodcarvings, and the tribal painting techniques; the village provides a great introduction to everyday life in Africa.
- Biking to Lake Manyara: Bike to the coast of one of Africa’s most majestic lake and get an amazing opportunity to view wildlife like zebras, giraffes, hippos and buffaloes at close range in this corridor of migration between the national parks.
- Farm tour: See the innovative farming practices of Mto wa Mbu villagers and learn about the irrigation system that sustains local crops, including the 32 varieties of bananas.
- Lunch at Mama’s: Enjoy a delicious, home-cooked meal in a local Mom’s home. Over lunch, the guide will provide a history of the region and the many local tribes.
In the afternoon you driver to Arusha – Kilimanjaro International Airport in time to catch up you flight to Zanzibar. At Zanzibar airport, you are picked up by our local correspondent and transferred to your hotel.
